Our Story Ethique was founded in 2012 by Brianne West, the CEO & Founder, who began experimenting with solid shampoo bars in her kitchen. Since then, we have expanded our range to over 100 products!

We created Compact by Design to identify products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. By removing excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship. At scale, these small differences in product size and weight lead to significant reductions in carbon emissions.

Here are a few ways products can qualify:

Calming Shampoo Bar: If you have an itchy or dry scalp, our lime-scented, soap-free bar will gently cleanse away your scalp woes with a rich lather. A blend of oils and soothing oatmeal helps calm and nourish the scalp. Great lather!

Nourishing Ingredients: A powerful blend of neem and karanja oils, renowned for their healing properties in Ayurvedic medicine, soothing oatmeal to calm dry scalps, cocoa butter, and coconut oil, all provide softness and shine to your hair.

Save Money & the Planet: Each shampoo bar lasts at least 80 washes, equivalent to three bottles of liquid shampoo. To use, stroke the bar down wet hair – it will lather!

Plastic Free: This bar has recyclable, home-compostable packaging. Simply tear up the box and pop it in your compost bin or bury it in your garden to return nutrients to the soil.

Ethical & Sustainable Ingredients: Formulated using vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, paraben-free, and renewable ingredients, sourced from sustainable producers paid a fair wage.
